Cookie policy

Last updated 5 August 2026

This site uses very few cookies, and none of them are for advertising. This page lists every one, what it does, and how to change your mind.

Nothing loads before you agree

No analytics script is loaded until you press Accept on the banner. Decline, and the script is never fetched — this is not a banner that sets the cookies first and asks afterwards.

What a cookie is

A small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your browser on a later visit. Related technologies — localStorage in particular — do a similar job, and we treat them the same way here.

What this site stores

Strictly necessary

Strictly necessary storage used by this website
NameTypePurposeDuration
ngm-consent localStorage Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so the banner does not reappear on every page. Until you clear site data

This one has to exist for the banner to work at all — without it we could not remember a "no". It stores a single word and nothing that identifies you.

Analytics — only with your consent

Analytics cookies, set only after consent
NameSet byPurposeDuration
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted without counting the same person repeatedly. Up to 2 years
_ga_<ID> Google Analytics Maintains session state for the specific analytics property. Up to 2 years

We use analytics for one purpose: seeing which pages get read so we can write better ones. IP anonymisation is enabled. We do not use analytics for advertising, retargeting or building profiles, and the data is not shared with advertising networks.

Embedded map

The contact page embeds a map from OpenStreetMap so you can find the office. Loading it means your browser contacts openstreetmap.org, which will see your IP address as any web request does. We chose OpenStreetMap partly because it does not set advertising cookies.

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting pixels
  • No social media tracking pixels
  • No session recording or heatmap tools
  • No cross-site tracking of any kind

Changing your mind

You can withdraw consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it:

  • Clear this site's data in your browser settings. The banner will reappear on your next visit and you can choose again.
  • Block cookies in your browser settings, either for all sites or just this one.
  • Use private browsing, which discards everything when you close the window.

Declining changes nothing about how the site works. There is no degraded experience for saying no, because none of this is load-bearing.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove anything that stores data in your browser, this page and the date at the top will be updated.
